Last week I received my monthly AAA magazine that featured Lighthouses along the Coast of California. I’ve already been to a couple of them and they are certainly beautiful. I’ve never felt inspired or nudge to go visist any of them. However ther was this one on the cover that seemed to call to me….Strange because I don’t often get called to do something like that. I thought I would go over the weekend because I needed to get away from the house. The weekend passed with other things filling my time yet, the voice inside kept saying go to the lighthouse. I kept dimissing it thinking I really don’t want to go alone.
So Monday morning I’m sitting at my computer working. I have no appointments schedule for the day yet and really didn’t feel like doing what work I need to do. Well you go it..I hear in my head, go to Pigeon Point. I felt a bit of excitement bubbling up inside me and then I thought, no I need to work, the bills are due soon, and what if someone calls for a last minute appointment..Blah, Blah, Blah. The voice was very firm, Go to Pigeon Point! Okay! Okay! I laughed, because I was sitting there talking to myself and gave in.
I spoke to a friend of mine before heading out the door and he said, “stop at Pescadero it’s a cute little town that you will just love”. I never heard of it and didn’t want to go to far off the Coast, but thought we will see. I grab some water and out the door I went.
The weather was beautiful where I lived and forgot how the coastal weather can be completely opposite. Sure enough as I got to Half Moon Bay it was cloud covered and cool. I didn’t have a care in the world at that point. I had been listening to an Abraham-Hicks CD with the window rolled down a bit taking in the fresh sea air…Aaaaahhhh.
I headed South on Hwy 1. It’s a gorgeous route that goes along the whole California Coast. I was in bliss and felt so at home. Now I know the reason for the nudge. It will feel so good. As I drove a passed a huge sign on the left that said, Pescadero 2 mile. I thoughts not to bad I’ll check it out on my way bad.
A few miles down the road I could see Pigeon Point. It’s a lighthouse that was built in 1872. It was named after a cargo ship that had hit the coastline and was ruined. The caption and his crew managed to get to safety. The lighthouse itself has been fenced off because of structural problems, but the view was spectacular. I walked around the grounds and took pictures before heading back.
After leaving I felt like I was riding the wave of life. I was so at peace and wanted to stay in that state for as long as possible. I headed back up the Coast buzzing away when I saw the sign for Pescadero. I turned off Hwy 1 and followed the road right into this tiny town. It had one intersection with a stop light hanging in the center of it. It whole town went about two blocks to the left and the right.
It had a few antique shops and a bakery well known for it’s artichoke, herb bread. Believe me it was fabulous. Julian and I cut into it as soon as I got home. There was two restaurants and a general store. It was the sweetest place and quiet for Monday. I was told the weekends are crazy there. That’s no surprise to me so I timed it well.
I headed back up the Coast enjoying every minute of it. It was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Next time I won’t dismiss those hits of inspiration to go do something….What a great ride….Weeeeeeeeee

That sounds like a fantastic trip and good on you for following your nudge!!
Your trip reminds me of how I feel when we go to Door county with it’s small shoreside villages, shops and art studios. And of course, the scenery. Very refreshing and inspirational. I think you should do this more often.
