Happy New Year Everyone! Doesn’t time just seem to fly? I’m glad we’re through with all the holiday”s. It gets a little overwhelming for me sometimes. As New Years approached people on Facebook were like ants, everywhere promoting their products and programs promising us they have the answers on how to make our resolution become a reality. It was such an over kill. I almost hated to log on. Its funny though to me that people always look to the New Year as a place to start over or to begin something new. I was guilty of it too.
We make resolutions to begin Jan.1st only to have them fall by the wayside within the first few weeks of Jan. and then wait until next year, where they set the same ones again to repeat all over again. I know I’ve done it myself..lol, but not anymore.
It has taken me years to really awaken to that everyday and even every moment is an opportunity to begin new. I can start over in this very moment which really empowers me. I don’t need to wait until tomorrow or Monday of next week. It is this ever present now that has all the power to begin. I still forget that too. I will fret and carry on and then I’m reminded to bring myself back to right now and begin again. It is a process that takes repeating to get the hang of it.
I do set goals and intentions for myself throughout the year, but for this New Year I am trying something different that my mentor Kathleen McCarthy suggested I try. It’s choosing a theme, so the theme I chose is trust. That includes trusting myself, spirit, processes and others. I am looking forward to all the opportunities that will present themselves in order to give me the chance to strengthen my ability to trust. I’ll have to let you know later in the year how that’s been going.
Remember right this moment is a chance to begin again. You’re at your strongest in the present and it’s important that you’re feeling good.
